Workkeys and Career Readiness

Workkeys

Workkeys was developed by ACT, which is a leader in education assessments and workforce development services. Workkeys links workforce and education partners to assist in developing a common language for job skill requirements to develop employees, thus creating a better workforce. Assessments measure abilities in communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills and personal skills. A total of 12 assessments can be completed. The top three assessments used are reading, writing and locating information, which is in the Communication and problem solving categories. However, more companies are adding to these most popular assessments due to the job descriptions and requirements. Others that are used most include technology and observation.

Workkeys partner (licensed) sites include:

  • State and local agencies
  • Schools
  • Community Colleges
  • Vocational and Adult Education Centers
  • Career Counseling Centers

To find the complete list of licensed workkeys partners, visit:  www.workkeys.com

Job Profiling

A job profile can be completed by a certified Job profiler that can help companies seeking to hire, promote and train employees. The report documents tasks of the job, skills required and job descriptions. For full details, visit: http://www.act.org/workkeys/profiling/

The Local Area Workforce Boards in partnership with other agencies can provide workkeys and job profiling to area companies that are interested.  For more information contact Carisa Rudd, Business Services Coordinator or your local Community College Workkeys Administrator.
